Users of the American Museum of Natural History's Digital Collections acknowledge and agree to the following Conditions of Use: 

The digital assets and data (the “Digital Materials”) in AMNH Digital Collections are protected by copyright and may be covered by other restrictions as well. To the extent the American Museum of Natural History (“AMNH” or the “Museum”) is the copyright holder in the Digital Materials, it retains all rights, including copyright, in data, images, software, documentation, text, and other information contained therein. Other individuals or entities may also have copyright and other proprietary rights interests in the Digital Materials.

Non-commercial, educational, personal use or fair use users may download and use these files if they comply with the conditions specified at the item or collection level.

Copying or redistribution the Digital Materials in any manner for commercial use, including commercial publication or for personal gain, without prior permission, is strictly prohibited unless otherwise stipulated at the item or collection level.

The Museum will honor requests from copyright owners to remove their image(s) from the site. Please send any such request(s) to: [email protected]

All requests for commercial licensing are vetted and fulfilled by AMNH Global Business Development. Responsibility for obtaining model releases for commercial use of these images is the sole responsibility of the licensee.
