Title
The Sound-Trek in use, Brontosaurus Hall, 1961
Description
The Sound-Trek device was the world's first bilingual three-channel radio guide service. It provided three audio tours, a brief description in English, a brief description in Spanish, and a more detailed 35-minute lecture by a Museum curator. The Sound-Trek was installed in ten Museum halls at the AMNH, including the Hall of Early Dinosaurs, as seen in this image, taken in 1961. Page 27 of the Museum's 92nd Annual Report details the device.
