Caribou bull for the Hall of North American Mammals
Description
Caribou Bull # 2, Sept 14 - 25 East of Daase Lake BC Shot by JL Clark, Complete skin - leg bones shoulder blades pelvis and atlas bones saved, Caribou, #70567, measurements for various parts of the caribou's body, stamped: James L. Clark American Museum of Natural History. The outline of a caribou in left profile view from head to tail composed in ink. Throughout the body are a series of straight lines bracketed by arrows also composed in ink. Some are filled in with measurements while others are not. Other lines and measurements appear to be added in pencil, such as those on the left hind foot and those stretching the length of the animal's back. Two documents previously attached to the bottom of the backing are now missing.
