Title
Kwakwaka'wakw house on the beach with totem pole
Description
From Anthropology scrapbook: View from the northwest of the house shown in 46011 and 46012. The beak of the bird may be opened on festive occasions and the guests enter through it. The front boards of the house were made in the sawmill, the other boards of the house were split by the natives. In olden times the fronts were made of native split boards. The tide when finally in comes part way up the steps.
