Description
For the Mangbetu, leopards symbolized power, and only rulers could wear teeth, claws, or hide taken from these animals. Made of leopard hide and encircled with leopard and lion canines, this belt was a particularly important part of a chief's regalia.
Material: Fur, hide, teeth, metal, plant fiber.
