Title
Women watching a dance, Faradje
Description
In the majority of Lang's photographs women are shown wearing traditional dress of barkcloth and negbe, the apron worn to cover the buttocks. Here, photographed watching a dance, are women wearing more modern clothes. One wears a Stetson hat, and several carry umbrellas. These women, wives of soldiers and laborers recruited by the Belgians, came from various parts of Zaire.
