Mangbetu village scene
Description
Women and children near circular huts. | In 1870, Schweinfurth noted reed-covered walls on Mangbetu houses. When Lang visited in 1910 this type of house was still made, although mud walls were becoming more popular. Lang photographed this group of houses in Okondo's village to illustrate the different types of reed coverings.
