Description
Mangbetu pottery illustrates the sense of beauty and design incorporated into objects of everyday use. This water jar was given to Lang by Nenzima, a principal wife of Okondo. Lang noted that Mangbetu women possessed and sold objects on their own, without consulting their husbands.
