Description
Like 90.0/5101, this box was a gift from King Leopold to the American Museum of Natural History in 1907. Cataloged simply as Uele region, it is an early example of a box incorporating the human form. The head shows the elongated shape characteristic of the Mangbetu around the early part of this century.
