Illustration of King Mbunza dancing
Description
Schweinfurth witnessed the mabolo dance at Mbunza's court and made this drawing of the performance. In the king's Great Hall, Mbunza dances before his numerous wives. The women sit on their stools, with their bodies painted in a variety of designs, waving their arms as the king dances.
